A woman named Pankhuri Mishra was arrested in Bengaluru on Sunday after a video surfaced showing her assaulting an auto-rickshaw driver. The incident took place on Saturday and involved an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. The driver, Lokesh, was seen being hit with a slipper by Mishra. The video quickly spread on social media, leading to police action. Mishra was released later on station bail.
Dispute over alleged foot injury
The argument began when Mishra, who was travelling with her husband on a two-wheeler, claimed that the auto driver had run over her foot. Lokesh denied this claim. During the confrontation, Mishra hit the driver multiple times with her slipper. Lokesh said he began recording the incident as the woman was speaking in Hindi and not the local language, Kannada, which made it difficult for bystanders to understand the context.
