Cody Rhodes is expected to return to WWE programming before the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. He might turn heel shortly thereafter if The Rock gets his way. The Rock originally wanted him to embrace the dark side ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Cody Rhodes hasn¡¯t been seen on WWE programming since he lost the Undisputed Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41 in April. ¡®QB 1¡¯ is expected to return in the days to come. In fact, some reports claim that he is likely to be back before the Money in the Bank event on June 7. Interestingly, he might turn heel sometime after his comeback if The Rock gets his way.

The Rock asked Cody Rhodes to ¡®sell his soul¡¯ to him at Elimination Chamber 2025 and promised to open new avenues for him if he agreed. However, the then Undisputed Champion turned down the offer. Following this, John Cena turned heel and beat up Cody.

According to Fightful Select, this storyline mirrored certain backstage developments. It is said that The Rock wanted Rhodes to turn heel ahead of WrestleMania 41. However, those close to ¡®The American Nightmare¡¯ were not in favour of it. Moreover, Cody Rhodes was selling merchandise and receiving positive reactions. Given this, the WWE did not go through with the turn.
During his recent appearance on The Pat McAfee show, The Rock¨C who skipped WrestleMania 41¨C said that he was open to revisiting ¡®the soul¡¯ angle in the near future. With this, he indicated that there is a possibility of Cody Rhodes aligning with him somewhere down the line. As such, if ¡®The Great One¡¯ gets his way, Rhodes will embrace the dark side as early as SummerSlam in August.

John Cena and Cody Rhodes locked horns at WrestleMania 41 in a decent match that saw both men hit each other with their finishers. Travis Scott eventually got involved and saved the Cenation Leader from defeat by knocking out the referee during a crucial point.
