Cristiano Ronaldo's history with Manchester United
For Ronaldo, Manchester is the city that is very close to his heart, as he had two stints with the English football team Manchester United in the past. During his first stint, he played under Sir Alex Ferguson and joined Real Madrid.
In his second stint, he noticed his contract was terminated in the winter of 2022 because of his comments on Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo's history with Manchester United is one of victory, controversy, and an unceremonious exit. In 2008, during his first spell at Old Trafford from 2003 to 2009, he won his first Ballon d'Or in 2008.
Additionally, he also helped the club secure multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League crown. Further, he returned in 2021, under then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskj?r, but this exciting reunion didn't last long.
Apart from this, Ronaldo had another fallout with Erik ten Hag, who saw him frozen out of the squad because of this. He criticized the club's management, which led to Manchester United terminating his contract.
