Adorable animal videos are our favourite thing on the internet. But the ones with elephants have a special place. The gentle giants can be counted among the most adorable creatures on Earth.
Every now and then, we come across videos of elephants and they always bring a smile to our faces. Now, a video is going viral showing a baby elephant engaging in one of the most hilarious ways to save food for later.
The elephant calf called Latika was making sure she had stock for later.
In the video, Latika can be seen eating some greens while placing the same with her trunk on her own head. Though this may seem a little off from what elephants usually do, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has clarified why she is doing this in the caption that accompanied this video.
The caption reads, ¡°Latika always saves some for later. She stockpiles extra lucerne and greens in the most convenient place ¡ª atop her head!¡±
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, in its caption, revealed that they had rescued Latika in October after an abandoned calf was reported with a snare slicing into her neck.
The video was shot in Kenya. Since being shared on Instagram, it has already received more than 77,000 likes and several comments from animal lovers.
"She¡¯s the sweetest baby," one user commented. "So thankful Latika was found before the snare could take her life," another user commented. "She knows exactly what she wants for the later," a third user commented. "Very cheeky," a user wrote.
Last month, a video went viral showing an elephant grabbing the hat of a woman who is standing next to it. In the video, the woman exclaims that her sister gave her the hat, ¡°Please can I have my hat back¡± she pleads as she requests the elephant to return it. Surprisingly, the elephant removes the hat from its mouth and returns it amid much cheering from the onlookers.

While it is unclear where the video was shot, it appears to be an elephant sanctuary by the looks of it.
Earlier in October, a heartwarming picture went viral showing a rescued baby elephant hugging a forest official in Tamil Nadu. In the picture, the elephant calf was seen standing near a forest official and hugging him with its trunk.
