Unfortunately, the world is no stranger to animal cruelty and a recent video which has surfaced on social media proves that human beings are not humane at all.
The video shows a huge crowd chasing an elephant down a street; it was posted on Twitter by Sudha Ramen of the Indian Forest Services. The IFS officer is popular for sharing wildlife-related content and raising awareness about animals and nature.
She captioned her post with: 'No words!! Wondering who is the animal here.'

In the short clip, the elephant is seen running down a crowded street. The animal is followed by a big group of people who are chasing it down the road.
The video was allegedly recorded by a group of locals, who can be heard laughing in the background.
Following her original post, IFS Ramen added that, 'Unlike humans, animals don't limit or know their boundaries. When it comes to elephants, the memories of passage are carried across generations. People living near forest areas or near the corridors should not panic, as this could trigger the animal. They too have the right to passage.'

Stressing on the need for awareness, Ramen added, 'Across India, the forest department has been working hard to address this issue. Let me tell you, each case is different and there is no 'one-solution'. Anthropogenic pressure is mounting up over the forests and wildlife, so the animals are equally the same stress.'
She also wrote, 'The reason for sharing these videos is to educate ourselves about such issues and to know how we have to behave in such cases. People who understand this will stay aware and will also educate others around.'
Netizens are enraged at the incident. One user wrote, 'Making children and adults understand the importance of Wildlife, Animals and how we share the planet.'
Another commented, 'Such a shame....people harassing an innocent elephant just for fun.'
This is heartbreaking to know that some people lack compassion to the point where they can cause harm to another being.
