Only In Australia: Man Lets Huge Huntsman Spider Live In His House For Over A Year
However, a man from Australia has taken the experience of huntsman spiders at home to a whole new level. Jake Gray recently shared photos of a massive huntsman spider crawling up his wall. If that's not creepy enough, he has been living with the arachnid and watching it grow for a year now.
A few weeks ago, a couple from Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, were petrified upon finding a huge huntsman spider crawling inside a delivery parcel they received from a leading e-commerce company.
The most baffling thing about the incident was that huntsman siders are species that are native to Asia. They are also found in Africa, Australia & South America but not in the UK.
Well, that can be called just pure back luck.
However, a man from Australia seems to have no qualms about huntsman spiders crawling around him. Jake Gray recently shared photos of a massive huntsman spider crawling up his wall. If that's not creepy enough, he has been living with the arachnid and watching it grow for a year now.
The man has been keeping the spider in his home in Cairns, Queensland and watching it grow like it were a regular pet.
A photograph of the giant arachnid was shared on the Australian Spider Identification group with the caption: "Check out this big girl. Been watching her grow over last year."
The photo was also shared on Instagram by popular digital artist 'BossLogic'.
While many users said the man is brave to have an arachnid as a pet, some said it isn't wise to keep it at home.
A user commented: 'The good old Huntsman. They are safe, but they will jump you!'
'What do you even do? Sell the house? Burn it down? I'm not kidding even one second. Do you talk to it? Offer it a cigarette?' wrote another.
