This Island In Bay Of Bengal Is Disappearing & It Is Because Of Devastating Floods
Residents of Ghoramara island an island part of the Sundarbans delta on the Bay of Bengal are being forced in to a similar situation. Many want to leave their homes but say they simply can&rsquot afford private relocations. The population of the island was estimated to be 7000 a decade ago has shrunk to 4800 today.
Just imagine giving up the home you were born and brought up in and lived most of your life in. The residents of Ghoramara island, an island part of the Sundarbans delta on the Bay of Bengal, are being forced in to a similar situation.

According to village elders, the island has nearly halved in size over the past two decades and the reason for that is the floods that have only worsened.
