GTA 6 drops official map reveal; screenshots go viral as fans claim 'way bigger than anyone speculated'

Amid the rising speculations and rumours doing the rounds on social media, the second trailer of GTA 6, or Grand Theft Auto VI, was finally released on Tuesday, May 7, 2025. The second trailer launch has left fans excited about the game and the new features. In the middle of this, some screenshots from the game have now gone viral.

As soon as the second trailer was released, fans had many questions surrounding the price tag for the highly anticipated game and how big Grand Theft Auto VI's map will actually be.

Even though Rockstar Games has maintained complete silence on the questions and it has recently released over 70 brand-new screenshots. The screenshots give a quick idea of the game's potential size of the map.

According to GamingBible, a recent screenshot shared on the GTABase Twitter account reveals a new character examining a map, which appears to depict the state of Leonida, or at least a small part of it.

The map showcases numerous waterways and islands, suggesting a vast scale. While it is a stylised version, it still offers a clearer idea of what we can expect.

As soon as the screenshots went viral on social media, they were quickly shared by fans on the internet.

One post on X (formerly called Twitter), "GTA 6 map looking INSANE. Rockstar really said ¡®open world¡¯ and meant it. Who¡¯s already planning their first heist spot?"
