You Can't Underestimate Us: 8-YO Manipur Girl Who Met Greta Thunberg Has A Message For PM Modi
8-year-old activist from Manipur has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement climate change laws in our country. Licypriya Kangujam has organised talks awareness campaigns and rallies about climate change. She recently met Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg in a climate change event in Madrid in Spain and was really inspired by her.
Since our leaders are not doing much to save the planet, youngsters have taken over the fight for climate change, around the world. After witnessing mass protests by Greta Thunberg, an 8-year-old activist from Manipur has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement climate change laws in our country.
Licypriya Kangujam took to Twitter and called upon PM Modi to pass the climate change laws in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament. She wrote, ¡®Please save our future. I am with my inspiration @gretathunberg to give more pressure to you and the world leaders. You can't underestimate us. Please pass the Climate Change law in the ongoing winter parliament session¡¯.

Licypriya has organised talks, awareness campaigns and rallies about climate change, and also helped victims of natural calamities.
She recently met Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg in a climate change event in Madrid in Spain, and was really inspired by her. Licypriya even stood near the Parliament to draw the Prime Minister¡¯s attention towards climate change. "I urge him and all MPs to act on climate change now and save our future. The sea levels are increasing and the Earth is becoming hotter. They should act now," she had told ANI.

She has also voiced her concerns across several international platforms and urged the world leaders to act upon the issue of climate change and to reduce natural disasters. Her work was recognised and she was awarded the 2019 World Children Peace Prize.
Licypriya is also the founder of ¡®The Child Movement¡¯, which aims towards children raising their voices on global issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced his concerns about climate change during the United Nations Climate Action Summit 2019. In September this year, PM Modi said that India has come to the United Nations to present a practical approach and road-map on the issue.

He said, "Need and not greed is our guiding principle. India is here today to not only talk about the seriousness of this issue but to present a practical approach and a road-map. We believe that an ounce of practice is worth more than a ton of teaching."
She is doing some amazing work and we are proud and happy about the fact that India¡¯s future generation making an effort to spread awareness regarding this pressing issue. If we all actually act on all the solutions that have been presented so far, we'll be able to make a huge difference.
