The coronavirus outbreak has wreaked havoc in countries across the world. Worldwide, a grim new milestone has been achieved with over 100,000 reported infections and a death toll that topped 3,400.
The picture below comes from Kirkland, US. The man named Gene Campbell, 89, is in long-term care at the Life Care Center in Kirkland, Washington, where at least four elderly residents have reportedly died of COVID-19.
Despite Gene being quarantined, his wife Dorothy has still tried to see him, visiting with son Charlie and talking to her husband through a window using phones.
The CNN report states that more than 50 of the center's residents and staff are being tested for the novel coronavirus, while family and friends of the 108 patients there have been barred from visiting.
According to ABC News, in the US at least 249 confirmed cases have been detected through the local public health system. There are an additional 70 Americans diagnosed with the virus who were either repatriated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan, were evacuated from Wuhan on a U.S. government-chartered plane or diagnosed on board the Grand Princess cruise ship anchored off San Francisco.
So far, at least 17 Americans infected with the virus have died.
In India, the number of confirmed cases increased to 31 today, as another Delhi man was tested positive. Following this, the government also advised people to avoid mass gatherings.
