Guy's Application For Rental Home Gets Rejected Because Of His Low Marks In 12th Standard
A man in Bengaluru recently had his rental home application rejected due to his low marks in 12th standard.
Finding a rental home in Bengaluru can be as harsh as looking for an oasis in a vast desert. Most offers end up being mere mirages for those who do not fulfill all the outrageous demands of the landlords.
Another such case taking the spotlight is of a guy named Yogesh. This poor gentleman faced rejection by a Bengaluru landlord because his 12th standard marks were not up to mark.
Bengaluru Resident Denied Rental Home Due To Academic History
Twitter user Shubh shared in a tweet that his cousin who was trying to find a rental home in Bengaluru was rejected by a landlord. The cousin was rejected because his 12th-grade marks weren¡¯t as high as the landlord wanted.
Shubh tweeted, ¡°I can't believe my cousin brother got denied for a rented flat by owner cause he got 76% in class 12th & owner was expecting atleast 90%.¡±

After a while, the user also shared screengrabs of the resident¡¯s conversation with a broker conveying the landlord¡¯s word. Shubh captioned the screengrabs, ¡°Marks don't decide your future, but it definitely decides whether you get a flat in banglore or not.¡±

According to the screengrabs, after approving Yogesh¡¯s profile the landlord wanted to get their hands on his Linkedin and Twitter profiles as well as the joining certificate from his job. If this wasn¡¯t already a red flag, the landlord even wanted to check his 10th and 12th mark sheets alongside his identification documents.
The Landlord Asked The Applicant To Write An Introduction About Himself
On top of it all, the landlord demanded that Yogesh write a ¡°150-200¡± word introduction to himself. Seeing as the landlord was asking for his documents, Yogesh was certain the deal was about done. He went ahead and asked the broker to enquire if he could shift at the house ¡°by the end of April.¡±
As it turns out, Yogesh was getting ahead of himself or he just simply wasn't aware of the woes of looking for a rental house in Bengaluru and the grueling process of passing a landlord¡¯s screening process.
The broker informed Yogesh that his application had been rejected because he got 75% in his 12th board while the landlord expected his rentees to have at least 90% marks.
