Delhi Software Engineer Goes Out Of His Way To Help 32 Kashmiri Girls Reach Home Safe
Days after the revocation of Article 370 which granted special status of Jammu and Kashmir, communication and the movement of people in the state was under lockdown for over two weeks.
In that period, one man named Harminder Singh Ahluwalia went out of his way to help a group of 32 Kashmiri girls living in Pune to reach home safe.
In an interview with Indian Express, Aluwalia said that a woman named Rukaya got in touch with him about the Kashmiri girls who were desperately trying to get back home.

According to the report all the girls were in Pune for a nursing training and placement programme as part of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana.

Worried about not getting through to their loved ones, the girls were trying their hardest to reach Kashmir. With the matter came in the know of the group's coordinator, arrangements were done for the movement with Army protection.
However, they didn't have the money needed for the journey and that's when Harminder Singh Ahluwalia stepped in. With the help of social media and donations from good Samaritans he managed to fund their trip.

¡°A Sikh businessman was quick to contact me and sponsored the air tickets for the girls and four volunteers,¡± Ahluwalia told Indian Express.
On August 9, the group reached Srinagar, and with the assistance of the Army, all of them were escorted home.
