Social media users have been captivated by a video of expert professional diver Florian Dagoury performing mind-blowing gymnastics underwater. The 34-year-old diver is ranked second in the world for underwater static apnea, according to Yahoo News. Watch the amazing video here.
Diver performs gymnastics underwater
ABC7 posted the now-viral video on YouTube on February 11. Florian warms up underwater in a swimming pool's clear waters as the amazing video begins. He stretches for a short while before getting ready to go for a slow run. The freediver does the ideal somersault underwater, turning 360 degrees, with steady hands and unimaginable breath control.
Florian doesn't end there. He performs a super impressive summersault followed by three mid-water flips. The accomplished diver performs three applaud-worthy, quick flips without touching his body to the swimming pool's surface before placing his foot there. He raises his hands again after pulling off the feat and makes a fist-of-victory gesture before swimming back to the surface.
Florian can hold his breath for more than three minutes
Florian can hold his breath for anywhere between two to four minutes, whereas average people and swimmers can only do so for 10¨C12 seconds. The skilled diver can be seen performing water stunts for almost a minute in this video as well. According to the YouTube description, Gert Leroy took the video footage from a diving shop in Phuket.
Earlier, in an interview with social media intelligence agency Storyful, Gret revealed, ¡°Florian and I try to bring freediving to a broader public by making this kind of short video. As breath-holding is a ¡®static¡¯ activity, there is not much to show in a video. So we try to make things more interesting by performing all kinds of fun stuff underwater.¡±
