Both of Roshan¡¯s pupils were affected by cataract when he was in second grade.
Eventually he started losing his eyesight and went completely blind. He was not capable to walk by himself so his grandmother took him to a free eye camp on her back. The camp was organised by the Hetauda Community Hospital, in Makwanpur. That is where Ruit operated on Roshan¡¯s eyes on Tuesday.
The surgery took a total of 15 minutes after which Roshan¡¯s eyes were bandaged. Next morning Ruit took off bandages from Roshan¡¯s eyes.
The surgery had worked and Roshan Theeng was ecstatic when he could see again. He clapped and could not stop laughing.
Kathmandu Post quoted him as saying, ¡°I can see everything and everybody.¡± Reportedly Ruit, as part of check up raised his fingers for Roshan to count who got it right each time. In the video that went viral Roshan can be seeing hugging Ruit and constantly touching his face. The surgeon seems overwhelmed too.

However, Kathmandu Post quoted him as saying ¡°I have never seen or felt such a heartwarming moment in my life, there was a flood of emotions. It felt like I was being blessed by the gods. I couldn¡¯t control myself.¡±
Roshan Theeng¡¯s life has not been easy. His HIV positive mother died two years ago and his HIV positive father is bedridden. Roshan¡¯s grandmother takes care of him, none of them are infected with the virus.
¡°The boy¡¯s expression of happiness was so strong that it was not just I who felt its effects, but everyone around, all the patients and their relatives,¡± Ruit reportedly said.
The living God on earth. Hats off.
