Khalsa Aid Comes To The Rescue Of People In Drought-Hit Maharashtra, Provides 6,000 L Of Water
People in Maharashtra are facing severe drought - almost half the state seems to have gone dry. 22 lakh people are affected by the drought and monsoon is still a month away. Volunteers of Khalsa Aid is lending a helping hand and giving them hope.
We have abused the environment and its resources so severely, that we are now facing a survival crisis. Natural resources - most importantly, water - are running out, all over the world.
Right now, people in Maharashtra are facing severe drought - almost half the state seems to have gone dry.
As people battle the grave circumstances, volunteers of Khalsa Aid is lending a helping hand, and giving them hope.

The state is severely affected by the shortage of water and there is no relief for people even as the mercury continues to rise. Around 22 lakh people are affected by the drought and according to Indian Meteorological Department, monsoon is still a month away.

Khalsa Aid¡¯s team has reached Nasik - which is one of the worst-hit places, and is providing water to those affected in the region.

So far, Khalsa Aid has distributed at least 6,000 litres of water in the affected villages. The team is providing 12 tankers of water every day. Volunteers are also sanitizing the village wells with water purification tablets.

Earlier, Khalsa Aid reached Odisha - when the state was affected by Cyclone Fani - to provide food and clothes to people affected by the calamity.
