A couple won a life-changing ?105 million lottery. But they didn't really get their heads in the clouds and kept being grounded. How? By buying second-hand cars and doing a lot of DIYs to make things life better.
Builder Steve Thomson and his wife Lenka brought a second-hand van and car after winning the huge lottery price. Just because the couple has earned a lot of money, they didn't want to spend the entire amount.
After revealing that he has won the lottery, Steve purchased a second-hand van for himself followed by a Volvo XC90 for Lenka. Savvy Steve also invested a chunk of his win with the Queens bank, Coutts & Co, following the windfall in 2019.
The couple ¡°tens of millions¡± into a trust and could be set for another huge windfall in years to come. The family also sold their terrace house in Selsey, West Sussex, for a massive country estate last year.
Their 14.5-acre estate has huge a swimming pool, tennis court and party barn, which is seven times the size of an average UK property. Neighbours near the imposing 7,000 sq ft farmhouse in Kent include Hollywood actors, rockstars and an IT tycoon.
Steve said that the house has been taken for the kids to get separate rooms. However, he vowed that he would renovate the place himself.
After winning the EuroMillions jackpot Steve, who fits windows and conservatories, continued to work to complete his outstanding orders.
