Ratan Tata has become one of India¡¯s favourite tycoons. His random acts of kindness, his humility and his social media posts have earned him respect only a few of his contemporaries in India command.
Over the years, the octogenarian has been known for acts of kindness that often went the extra mile for the people around him. And Ratan Tata again showed us his caring, empathetic side, as the business icon took the time to visit the home of an ailing former employee, doing so without any fanfare as his style has been over the years.
83-year-old Ratan Tata travelled all the way from Mumbai to the Friends Society in Pune to visit a former employee who has been unwell for the last two years, according to a LinkedIn post. In no way was the private visit advertised, and there were no media present.
The LinkedIn post reads, ¡®Sir Ratan Tata, (83 Years old ) living legend, greatest businessman alive in India visited the friends society in Pune to meet his Ex Emoloyee [sic] all the way from Mumbai who is ailing for last 2 years¡¯.
It goes on to say, ¡®This is how legends are made of. No media, no bouncers only commitment towards loyal employees. There is lot to learn for all entrepreneurs and businessmen that money is not everything all that matters is being great human being¡¯.
It ends with, ¡®Hats off Sir!! I bow my head in Respect!!¡¯
In the past, among his many acts of support was when he visited the families of all the 80 workers affected by 26/11 personally.
He promised to fund their children's full education and pay medical costs, including therapy expenses, for their entire family and dependents for the remainder of their lives. A waiver on all loans and advances, regardless of the amount, was also granted to them. Stories like this offer us hope at a time when one of the greatest problems of our lives is recovering in the world.
Also the world knows how fond Tata is of dogs and his Instagram profile reflects the same. He shares pictures of his own adopted dogs as well as several posts about finding forever homes for the lovely four-legged creatures.
The industrialist took to social media to ask people to help him find a fur-ever home for a dog named 'Sprite'. He posts about such adoption cases regularly.
