Meanwhile, the Ukrainians are standing tall as Russia continues its advances towards Kyiv. The civilians are taking up arms to defend their country.
A young couple, who were due to get married later this year pulled the date early, and have now joined the Ukrainian defence forces. 21-year-old Yaryna and 24-year Sviatoslav were all set to get hitched in May but after Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to invade their country, they changed their plans and joined the army. They tied the knot in a monastery in Kyiv and were later spotted armed with AK-47s.
Yarina and Sviatoslav decided to move their wedding forward and got married on the day Russia invaded their country. 24h later, the young Ukrainian couple picked up their government issued weapons to fight the invaders. #UkraineUnderAttack #Ukraine #UkraineRussia pic.twitter.com/DbOf2uRj8e
