In order to grab a tennis ball dropped by a drone flying 469.5 feet above him, an 18-year-old smashed the Guinness World Record. According to Cameron Heinig, he and his friend Julian, a drone pilot, trained for two summers to break the record for the highest tennis ball capture.
Heinig admitted to Guinness World Records that he "didn't even come close" to catching the ball the first summer but said he improved the following year after practicing using a baseball glove.

When his gloved attempts were successful regularly, he tried catching the ball barehanded.
"I was a little worried that it would hurt, but I figured it was worth it for a Guinness World Records title," he stated.
Heinig's formal attempt had to be postponed because the drone had to be modified to include a reflector after a surveyor hired to gauge its height determined it was too small. Heinig caught the ball on his third attempt on the day of his official attempt.
According to the surveyor, it was dropped from a height of 469.5 feet, which is 75.4 feet higher than the previous record.
