Virgin Galactic, a space travel company created by Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, has launched its first commercial mission to space. On June 29, the company achieved a significant milestone by successfully sending four passengers to suborbital space and safely bringing them back.
Virgin Galactic Offers Space Tour Flight To Public, People Ask 'Titan 2?'
Riding the excitement of its launch, the company released a promo video for the trip they are offering to the public. In the clip, they introduced the public to the four volunteers who went on the suborbital trip to space and promoted their grand ideas of exploring space and giving wings to curiosity.
The space flight took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico at 10:30 a.m. ET. It reached a region of space that is not quite orbiting the Earth, called suborbital space, after about 58 minutes. The spacecraft spent a few minutes floating at a high point of 85.1 km above the Earth. Then, it safely returned to Spaceport America and landed at 11:42 a.m. ET.
Virgin Galactic is not the only company working on sending people to suborbital space. Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin also offers flights to suborbital space using a reusable rocket and capsule called New Shepard. Blue Origin has already completed six missions with human crews on board. However, the company has not conducted any flights since September 2022 due to an issue that occurred during an uncrewed research flight with New Shepard.

During the disaster of the Titan Sub which had five passengers on board who lost lives underwater. The 78 hours leading up to the tragedy left a bad taste in people¡¯s mouths, especially regarding any exploration programs.
