Heavy rainfall and waterlogging due to the same has gripped the state of Tamil Nadu currently. But the state's capital Chennai has been the worst affected by the heavy rains.
The city is not only reeling with knee-deep water but survival has also become quite difficult there. Amid this chaos, a woman police inspector has set an example by leading rescue work from the front.

A video has surfaced of this woman cop named Rajeswari who is carrying an unconscious man on her shoulders and then ensuring his quick evacuation.
The video was posted by news agency ANI which shows Ms Rajeswari overseeing rescue work hands-on in a waterlogged area. As the rescue crew cut branches of a tree felled by strong winds, Ms Rajeswari, trousers rolled up, is seen pulling at the felled branches to get them out of the way. She then spots the unconscious man and takes her towards the auto.
She puts the unconscious man on the rear seat of the three-wheeler and as the vehicle drives away, the policewoman turns back to her job of clearing the area in the rough weather.

Speaking to the ANI later, the woman officer said, "I gave first aid after which I carried him. An auto came there, we sent him to hospital. I visited the hospital, his mother was there. I assured them not to worry and that the police department will support them. The doctor said that treatment is on and there's nothing to worry."

Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal too lauded the woman cop for her excellent work and mentioned that the unconscious man is fine thanks to Rajeshwari and her dedication.
Rajeshwari who is a police inspector with Chennai's TP Chatram Police Station has actively been involved in rescue and relief activities ever since the onset of monsoon and has been feeding the shelterless every day with her team.
Heavy rain destroyed several Tamil Nadu districts last night and this morning, particularly the northern districts. At least 14 people have died in rain-related incidents, a senior official told ANI this morning.
