'I was terminated': Ex-federal worker fired by DOGE complains, but old post backfires¡ªElon Musk reacts
Elon Musk¡¯s role in Trump's administration has sparked controversy as federal job cuts under the DOGE department leave many unemployed. One worker¡¯s complaint on X backfired when users dug up past posts, prompting Musk himself to react.

The world's richest man, Elon Musk, is playing a key role in shaping the Donald Trump's administration through the newly established DOGE department, focusing on government efficiency. A major part of this effort involves cutting federal spending and reducing the workforce¡ªa move that hasn't exactly made Elon Musk popular among employees. Recently, one worker who was let go voiced her frustration on X, but things took an unexpected turn when users unearthed her old tweets. Now, even Musk himself has weighed in on the controversy.
In a major shake-up, Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday directing federal agencies to implement "large-scale reductions in force." This comes on top of the estimated 75,000 employees who had already taken a buyout deal, accepting eight months of pay and benefits in exchange for their immediate resignation.

Among those affected by the job cuts was a woman known as "That Blonde Girl" on X.
On February 15, she shared her frustration, writing: "I was terminated from my dream job with the Children¡¯s Bureau yesterday due to federal restructuring orders/DOGE. I am unemployed for the first time since I was 15 years old."

However, internet sleuths quickly pointed out a contradiction.
Just weeks earlier, in October 2024, she had posted about enjoying a work-from-home lifestyle with little accountability: "Didn't have any meetings today so I've been wearing my jammies all day but now I have a meeting in 30 minutes sooo putting on a hoodie. Eventually that WFH life gonna getcha."

Elon Musk, who leads the DOGE department and has been a strong advocate for returning to in-office work, responded to the resurfaced post with a single emoji¡ªmaking his stance on the situation crystal clear.
