A missing toddler, a backyard pool, and a family torn apart
Brady reportedly told authorities that he lost sight of Trigg for three to five minutes. That tiny window was all it took. He then found his son floating in the pool of their Arizona home. Trigg was rushed for emergency care on May 12, but heartbreak followed days later when he was pronounced dead on May 18.
Emilie was not home, she was reportedly out with friends
A source close to the family told PEOPLE that Emilie was not at the house when the drowning happened. According to statements made to investigators, she was out with friends that evening. The revelation has added a painful layer of public scrutiny as people grapple with the timeline and tragedy.
Emilie Kiser is taking legal steps to seal the pain
In the wake of Trigg¡¯s death, Emilie has filed a lawsuit aiming to block the release of public records related to the incident, including video footage. The lawsuit, filed in Arizona¡¯s Maricopa County, claims she is trying to avoid being forced to relive the traumatic moments. Over 100 requests for records have reportedly flooded in from the public, turning a private tragedy into a viral spectacle.
To protect herself and her remaining family, Emilie also submitted a personal declaration outlining her grief and trauma. The court granted her temporary privacy on 3 June and sealed the declaration until a final ruling on her full privacy request is made.
The investigation is still ongoing
While the Chandler police department has extended its condolences, they confirmed that the investigation is still active. No charges have been filed as of yet, and no additional information will be released until the case is formally closed.
