After two consecutive losses, Mumbai Indians (MI) secured their first win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, crushing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 8 wickets. Interestingly, this victory came in their first home game, where they restricted KKR to just 116 all out in 16.2 overs before chasing down the target in just 12.5 overs.

With this win, MI's Net Run Rate (NRR), which was in the negative after two losses at -1.163 went on to improve and become positive to +0.309, moving them up from 9th to 6th place in the standings.
