J.K. Rowling's comment
In her post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Rowling compared the 64-year-old novelist to Weinstein, who is currently serving a prison sentence for rape after being a central figure in the #MeToo movement.
"The literary community, which had so much to say about Harvey Weinstein before his conviction, has been strangely silent in response to multiple accusations against Neil Gaiman from young women who had never met, yet ¡ª like Weinstein ¡ª share eerily similar stories," Rowling wrote.
The literary crowd that had a hell of a lot to say about Harvey Weinstein before he was convicted has been strangely muted in its response to multiple accusations against Neil Gaiman from young women who'd never met, yet - as with Weinstein - tell remarkably similar stories.

About Neil Gaiman
The initial accusations against Gaiman came from five women who shared their stories in the podcast "Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman" in 2023. Now, adding to this, four more women have recounted similarly distressing experiences from Gaiman. They have stated how he overstepped boundaries and exerted control over them for sex. While two of the women had previously worked for Gaiman, the other two were fans of the writer.
According to the article, one of those fans, Katherine Kendall, who met Gaiman when she was 22, later received $60,000 from the author for therapy. Another woman, who had lived on Gaiman's property and worked as a caretaker, explained feeling financially dependent on him. She revealed how sex began to feel transactional in exchange for her accommodation.
As for Gaiman, he has denied all allegations since 2023. With nine accusations now stacked against him, Gaiman's Hollywood projects have taken a hit. Prime Video, which had been preparing a third season for its adaptation of Good Omens, has downgraded it to a 90-minute finale.
