Click here to find out about Trikini - a bikini with a matching face mask and how they are becoming popular in Italy.
Now that face masks have become an essential part of ¡®body wear¡¯, people across the world are coming up with ¡®out of ordinary¡¯ and ¡®non basic¡¯ face masks. So that whenever you are going out during the time of coronavirus lockdown you also look, cool/cute/fashionable (depending on your choice of mask).
Among the many people who have had successful offbeat mask making ideas, probably the idea of a Trikini by an Italian designer is a winner.
What Is A Trikini?
A Trikini is just a bikini with a matching face mask. The face mask goes with the bikini pattern, making it part of the set. The interesting part is, this now famous and successful design was created as a joke by the Italian designer.
Tiziana Scaramuzzo, the owner of Elexa Beachwear in Senigallia, central Italy, began producing the ¡®pandemic-proof¡¯ beachwear to keep spirits up at home. This was after the Italian government announced a restriction on movement due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Scaramuzzo's suppliers told her they would be closing in spring, which meant she could not to produce bikinis for peak season. Talking to Italian website Centropagina, she said that this hit the business hard.
Despite business being in a slump, she began joking with her family about making masks with designs on them - to uplift the mood at home.
After she made matching masks with bikini, she posted the pictures of her daughters wearing those, on social media, and the Trikini went viral. Scaramuzzo now has many requests for Trikini orders flooding in.
She said that it is unbelievable that the lockdown has gone on for so long and done so much damage. However, with orders pouring in for Trikini, she sees hope and thinks that people are buying the brightly colored face coverings to keep themselves from getting too glum.
And the release of the safety-focused beachwear could not have been timed better, as Italy began to relax lockdown restrictions last week.
Images from the country where people can be seen flocking to public places like parks and beaches have popped up on the Internet. During this pandemic, Italy was one of the hardest hit nations in Europe.
Now that it seems that social distancing might become a norm, creative ideas like Trikini might be in demand, with a whole new market of their own.
