Justin Baldoni is speaking out about his personal struggles as his legal battle with Blake Lively intensifies. In a preview for an upcoming interview, Baldoni mentions that he's had an "intense year." The emotional conversation, which was recorded weeks before Lively filed a lawsuit against him, is set to be a candid and revealing discussion about his life and career.
Justin Baldoni opens up about his challenging year.
Justin Baldoni has shared a candid and emotional account of his experiences with anxiety, revealing that the past year has been particularly challenging for him. In a recent interview on the Gent's Talk podcast, the 41-year-old actor and director, known for his roles in Jane the Virgin and It Ends with Us, became emotional while talking about his challenging year.
In a promo clip, Justin states that he's had an "intense year." The interview was recorded in November, weeks before Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against him, in which she accused him of sexual harassment and alleged that he launched a smear campaign against her. However, the rumors of a feud between the co-stars surfaced even before the release of the film when the two co-stars decided to promote the film separately.
In the interview, Baldoni shares that he sent a text message that morning and felt anxious about it. When host Samir Mourani asks him the reason, he responds, "I haven't talked about this yet." He becomes emotional, wiping his face and seemingly holding back tears. The interview is set to air on February 10.

Months after speculations of a feud between the two, Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment in January. Baldoni, too, filed a countersuit against Blake and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, later that month, citing civil extortion and defamation.
Baldoni submits a text message by Isabela Ferrer to defend himself
According to an In Touch weekly report, Baldoni is defending himself by submitting a text from co-star Isabela Ferrer, who played younger Lily Bloom in It Ends with Us, that she had sent him after wrapping the shooting of the film.
The text, allegedly sent on July 11, 2023, reads, "Hey!! Just got my film developed from when we were shooting, so here's this sweet pic! I also have to say thank you SO much for an incredible experience on my first film. I still can't shake the feeling of it all because it truly was life-changing for me. You are such a wonderful, smart, and sincere director, and you created such a comfortable, safe space for me to feel like I could fully step into this role. I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming environment. It will stay with me for the rest of my life!! See you soon, whether in the fall or later, & hope you're doing well :) X."
With the submission of the above-shared text, Justin claims that the cast and crew had a positive view of him. He alleges that Blake Lively's involvement in the film's post-production led to a change in their perception of him.
Justin Baldini says Blake Lively left a 'trail of breadcrumbs'
In his lawsuit, Justin claims that Blake Lively took control of the film during post-production and marginalized his involvement. He also states that he was sidelined by the rest of the cast too after both Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds unfollowed him on social media.
Additionally, Colleen Hoover, the author of the book the film is based on, also distanced herself from him. Baldoni alleges that Blake Lively intentionally created a negative impression of him, leaving a "trail of breadcrumbs" that suggested he had harmed her in some way.
