Last week on SmackDown, the Canadian star announced that he will not be able to perform at ¡®The Show of Shows¡¯ as he has an injured neck. Now, a new report suggests that the injury is graver than expected.

Kevin Owens is in the limelight because of a shocking and sad reason. He recently announced that he will be undergoing a neck surgery. It now seems that the issue is more serious than expected. According to Fightful Select, a pro wrestling portal, he is not expected to return to in-ring competition this year. Moreover, there is a chance of him missing WrestleMania 42 as well. The timing of the injury could not have been worse.
Owens was going through a terrific phase in his career. He beat Sami Zayn in a critically acclaimed match at Elimination Chamber 2025. He was gearing up to lock horns with Randy Orton at ¡®Mania 41 in what many expected to be a slobber knocker. It, however, has been cancelled because of the injury.

As things stand, Randy Orton is without an opponent for WrestleMania 41. However, he brawled with Solo Sikoa on tonight¡¯s episode of SmackDown, indicating the Bloodline member might be his foe at the event.
