Khan Sir breaks his silence on ¡®ghoonghat controversy¡¯ over wife's veiled look at reception

Khan Sir, whose real name is Faizal Khan, recently got married in May 2025. The renowned Indian educator and YouTuber kept his marriage ceremony quite low-key due to recent border tensions at the time. However, the identity of his wife is still not revealed, but videos from the reception party hosted in Patna sparked debate online when netizens noticed his 'Wife in ghoonghat' (wife in veil or wife covering her face).

The wedding reception of the famous educator was held in Patna on June 2, and the videos and footage from the party quickly went viral on social media. However, the video of the bride did not sit well with the netizens, as some pointed out why his wife is covering her face for the entire duration of the function.

Amid all this, Khan Sir recently opened up about the 'ghoonghat controversy' and explained the real reason behind his wife's veiled look.

Khan Sir addresses the 'ghoonghat controversy'

After the growing concerns among fans and netizens about Khan Sir's wife in a veiled look, the online educator finally opened up in a recent podcast with ANI.

While addressing the 'ghoonghat controversy', Khan said it was his wife who decided to keep her face covered with a red veil at the reception ceremony. During the podcast, the host discussed the VIPs' presence at his wedding before mentioning the controversy around the veil.

In response to the same, Khan Sir claimed that it was his wife's choice to keep her face covered. He went on to explain more, saying that his wife wanted to look different from all the nicely dressed people at the reception and chose to keep her face covered to feel like a bride and wanted to be the centre of attention.

According to the YouTuber, his wife had dreamt of this since she was a child. He added, despite suggesting otherwise, that he respected her choice to stand out as a bride.

What did Khan Sir's wife wear at the wedding reception?

For the reception, Khan Sir chose to don a burgundy suit, while his wife chose a red bridal lehenga with a heavy gold ardozi embroidery and sequin embellishments.

The bride paired it up with a heavily embroidered blouse and a floor-sweeping lehenga skirt, and she completed her look with a red dupatta that covered her face.

The reception ceremony was attended by some famous personalities, including politician Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and fellow educator and CEO of Physics Wallah, Alakh Pandey.
