Korean news outlet Money Today (MT) exclusively reported that Kim Soo Hyun and Actress A began dating around 2016 and were together for about three years. However, this seems to clash with Kim Sae Ron's claims of her relationship with Kim Soo Hyun from late 2015 until July 2021.

The report explained that the two actors grew close while working under the same agency, KEYEAST. Kim Soo Hyun, who originally debuted under M.Boat in 2007, moved to KEYEAST in 2010 and was there until 2019 before founding his own label, GOLD MEDALIST.

The relationship with Actress A reportedly ended in the spring of 2019, just months before Kim Soo Hyun completed his military duty.

Industry insiders cited by MT described the relationship as an "open secret" within the entertainment industry, suggesting it would have been unlikely for Kim Soo Hyun to be simultaneously involved with Kim Sae Ron.

Another source claimed that Kim Soo Hyun's relationship with Kim Sae Ron lasted only a year, from 2019 to 2020.

Despite the report, a majority of Korean netizens continue to support Kim Sae Ron's earlier allegations, accusing Kim Soo Hyun of cheating. Many cited letters he allegedly sent to Kim Sae Ron during his military service, along with other materials her family provided to the Garosero Research Institute, as proof of their relationship.

Public sentiment online has grown increasingly critical, with many mocking Kim Soo Hyun for "shooting himself in the foot" by letting contradictory stories come to light.
