Maa box office prediction day 1: Kajol¡¯s horror drama may earn nearly Rs 8 crore in India

Maa box office collection day 1: Maa, starring Kajol, hit the screens on June 27 much to the delight of fans. The horror thriller has garnered a fair deal of attention as it features the seasoned actress in an intense new avatar. Moreover, going by the trailer, the storyline promises to be emotional and haunting in equal measure. These factors are expected to help it open to a good response at the Indian box office.

Maa set to roar at the box office

Kajol is in the limelight because of her latest film Maa, which arrived in theatres today. According to Rohit Jaiswal, a trade analyst and critic, it is expected to collect Rs 6 crore to Rs 8 crore (nett) on the first day.

¡°Maa created a buzz when the trailer released. However, now the buzz has decreased because of Sitaare Zameen Par. Either way, I think an opening in the range of Rs 6 crore and Rs 8 crore is on the cards,¡± he told Indiatimes.

If this estimate holds, the film will open better than heroine-driven films such as Chhapaak (~5 crore) and Indoo Ki Jawani (Rs 35 lakh).

Maa has been released alongside the pan-India film Kannappa, starring Vishnu Manchu and Prabhas.
