During the final showdown of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the chants for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were not only heard at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmadabad, but the cheers were even louder on social media on Tuesday, June 3. The team defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) to accomplish this historic achievement.

For RCB supporters worldwide, the team's victory was one of the most anticipated, and Virat Kohli winning his maiden IPL championship almost after 18 years was nothing less than a dream come true.

RCB's curse is finally over in IPL 2025

After almost 18 years, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally ended their long-standing trophy drought by lifting their first IPL title on Tuesday. On the other hand, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to chase.

RCB opened the match with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli. Salt got off to a fast start but was caught by Iyer in a spectacular catch and fell to Kyle Jamieson. While Mayank Agarwal and RCB captain Rajat Patidar looked promising, they could not help much.

Finally, with some late contributions from Liam Livingstone (25) and Jitesh Sharma (24), they helped RCB secure a total of 190 runs.

For PBKS, their bowlers delivered a good performance, leading the attack and controlling the opposition batsmen Arshdeep Singh (3/40) and Kyle Jamieson (3/48).

RCB's bowling took the game by storm

PBKS opened with Priyansh Arya (24) and Prabhsimran Singh (26), who got off to a steady start, but their dismissals changed the momentum.

Meanwhile, in order to slow down the pursuit, the RCB bowling unit performed admirably under pressure and hit frequently. Additionally, Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced a game-changing over in which he claimed two wickets.

But no matter how tense the situation was, RCB sealed the deal and lifted their first-ever IPL cup.
