Watch: Indian Army Marches On 'Saare Jahan Se Achcha' At Bastille Day Parade In France
The Indian Army made the country proud when they walked broad-chested down the Champs Elysees at France's annual Bastille Day Parade.
India joined France as the country celebrated Bastille Day, the national holiday of the European country. The celebration was a historical marker of the storming of the Bastille prison in Paris back in 1789, which kicked off the French Revolution.

On this important day, the Indian Army's Punjab Regiment joined the French soldiers and marched along the Champs-?lys¨¦es.On July 14, the French were celebrating their national festival while cheering on the army marching during the Bastille Day parade in Paris when the Indian Army's Punjab Regiment also joined the merriment.
The Drill contingent, comprising three Officers, four JCOs (Junior Commissioned Officers), and 69 troops, left AF Station Jamnagar for Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris, on July 6. On the day of the parade, the tri-force contingent received a warm welcome from the French and made their march along the Champs Elysees as the 'Saare Jahan Se Achcha' instrumental played in the background of the marching Indian troops.
The French Embassy of India tweeted and noted how the Punjab regiment's valorous history includes fighting alongside the French troops during World War I.

The Punjab Regiment Was Led By Captain Aman Jagtap
During the parade, the Punjab Regiment was led by Captain Aman Jagtap. The Indian Navy contingent was led by Commander Vrat Baghel, while the Indian Air Force contingent was led by Squadron Leader Sindhu Reddy.
Captain Aman Jagtap, 23rd Battalion, Punjab Regiment, Longewala expressed his excitement over joining and leading the march at the parade. He said, ¡°It is a proud and historic moment. After 107 years, we will parade at the same place where the ancestors of my Regiment did. For my troop and me, it is a matter of pride for me¡It is not every day that someone gets to parade before one¡¯s PM in a foreign land. It is a huge and rare opportunity for us."

Including the tri-service contingent of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, this year's Bastille Day Parade had about 6,300 soldiers marching in different contingents. Ranveer, an officer of the Indian Navy, mentioned, "Our contingent is brimming with anticipation and enthusiasm. From the parade, you will get a sense of the preparations that went into it. We have been preparing (for the parade) for the last one month. However, all stage rehearsals are over and we are all set for the march today."
The soldiers marched in the parade with their chests broad and made Indians all over the world proud.
