Recently, the Karnataka state government instructed all public institutions and places of gathering to shut their doors on Sunday to till 7 am on May 25. After imposing a complete lockdown in Karnataka various places on Sunday wore a deserted look as people remained confined to their homes. Here are some photos.

"A total lockdown is in force across the state since Saturday evening 7pm to Monday morning 7am. A ban under Section 144 of the CrPC has also been imposed to prevent movement of people and vehicles," a police official said.??

After a partial relaxation of restrictions on weekdays since May 19 to revive economic activity and restore near-normalcy state government decided to impose the lockdown on Sunday.

Ananda Rao circle flyover remains closed during the curfew in Bangalore on Sunday. All main roads, flyovers and enter/exit points on the city outskirts have been barricaded to prevent vehicular movement.

Empty roads and commercial establishments also stands closed in Mangaluru as part of Sunday curfew.
