Reportedly, there are five states in the northeast that do not have a single COVID-19 patient. These include Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram.
Nearly 30 per cent of the districts in Telangana have been declared Covid-19-free by the government. The districts include those which did not report a single case, where all positive cases turned negative and persons were discharged.
While some districts struggle to tackle coronavirus, over 216 districts in the country have not reported any COVID-19 cases as on May 8, 2020. 42 districts have not registered any infections in the last 28 days and 29 districts have not recorded any case in the last 21 days, the Union health ministry said on May 8, 2020.
Fitch Ratings said India¡¯s gross domestic product (GDP) growth will slip to 0.8 per cent for the year April 2020 to March 2021 (FY21) as compared to an estimated 4.9 per cent growth in the previous fiscal. Growth is, however, expected to rebound to 6.7 per cent in 2021-22.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in India is nearing the 75-000 mark. However, the recovery rate from the virus was reported to be around 32.82 per cent till Wednesday.
