Netizens Dig Up Old Coca Cola Advert Starring Cristiano Ronaldo, Label Him A 'Hypocrite' For His Stunt
While some fitness enthusiasts have celebrated the move claiming that the Portuguese footballer is encouraging healthy living, others have dug out an old advert of Ronaldo endorsing Coca Cola in the past.
Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo dissed the beverage company Coca Cola by replacing the soft drink's bottles with water during a press conference. This led to the multinational company losing shares worth $4 billion in the market.
So, while some fitness enthusiasts have celebrated the move claiming saying that the Portuguese footballer is encouraging healthy living, others have dug out an old advert of Ronaldo endorsing Coca Cola in the past.
His press conference stunt did not sit well with netizens who have called out the captain of the Portugal football team for 'hypocrisy' and took to the microblogging website Twitter to express their disappointment.

Water is better but Coca Cola are the tournament sponsors whose money helps to pay for the event he is appearing in. Also Ronaldo used to endorse Cola in TV adverts. When that contract ran out he moved on to appearing in ads for KFC.

And yet he loved doing those ads years ago in China .. https://t.co/GrPpxXzQeH

Without giving it a second thought, the Portuguese footballer picked up two bottles of Coca-Cola placed in front of him at a press conference and switched them with a bottle of water. In the viral video of the press conference, he appeared to be muttering the beverage company's name that lost $4 billion worth of shares in the market.
