In Response To Salt Bae's Steak, Fast Food Chain Launches 'Affordable' Gold-covered Burger
Dope Burger has launched a new ?100 luxury burger which comes covered in gold, rivalling Salt Bae's now-infamous ?1,450 steak, and it could be coming to a restaurant near you soon
Nusret G?k?e, popularly known as Salt Bae, got famous back in 2017 after showcasing his unusual seasoning style. The man got so famous that he now owns a global chain of luxury steakhouses that are going popular for their exorbitant prices.
However, Salt Bae¡¯s lavish London restaurant has been under fire in recent weeks. It started when someone shared their bill from the restaurant and how expensive everything was. Not just that, the sky-high prices ¨C ?700 for a steak is also being talked about and more recently, the luxury eatery was accused of deleting negative customer reviews.
Recently, a TikTok user recreated the tomahawk steak that costs ?1,450 (Rs 1,49,329) at Salt Bae's restaurant at a much cheaper price.

Now, a fast-food chain outlet is doing the same to give Salt Bae's outlet some competition. This outlet has launched a gold-covered burger.
The restaurant by the name Dope Burger started selling the luxury item, which of course comes with flaking gold on the bun, for the price of ?100. This restaurant which has branches in Hull and Leeds, with another in Doncaster due to open soon shared a video of the same on social media.
In the video, a chef wearing sunglasses slices through the burger with a giant knife, before showing the product to the camera the same way Salt Bae does. He even sprinkles some seasoning down his arm and onto the meat, much like the Turkish restaurateur.
Dope Burger specialises in 'gourmet burgers, hot dogs and fries' and once the outlet posted the video and pictures online, many people have commented on the new menu item.
One joked: "Only 100 pounds I'll have 2."
Someone else said: @Take the gold s**t off and I'll have it!"
A third asked: "So is it just a normal burger with gold leaf on the bun??.... What makes it worth ?100....am I missing something?"
Even though, Salt Bae has started the trend of adding gold to luxury food items. Its infamous gold-covered tomahawk steak is beyond expensive. This steak Knightsbridge restaurant's will set you back an eye-watering ?630 ($846).
People have been trolling Salt Bae's creation ever since the price of it was disclosed. One chef even trolled the steak by selling mini meat pies popular in Lancashire, in edible 24-carat gold leaf to mock Nusret Gokce's 'ludicrous' menu.
Here's hoping Salt Bae actually gets embarrassed by these trolls and reduce the prices of the food.
