Meanwhile, his wife, sports journalist and broadcaster Sanjana Ganesan, took to social media to show support not just for Bumrah's bowling, but also his 'great booty.' However, her playful post wasn't received with the same enthusiasm by all.
The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is underway in Perth, with Jasprit Bumrah captaining the Indian team in Rohit Sharma's absence.
India won the toss and opted to bat first on Day 1, a decision that initially seemed to backfire as India's top order crumbled, putting up just 150.
However, Bumrah's fiery spell of 4/17 turned the tide, reducing Australia to 94/9 in response to India's modest 150-run total.
Bumrah's impressive performance caught the attention of the ICC, which shared a post on Instagram calling him "India's unstoppable pace phenom."
Bumrah's wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, reshared the post with a playful caption: "Great bowler, even greater booty."
However, not everyone was on board with her 'cheeky' tribute.

But most rushed to defend the couple's playful interaction, especially given that they are husband and wife.
The original commenter pointed out the irony, noting, "I know they are husband and wife. The comment is about the woke outrage when a man appreciates the physical attributes of his wife, publicly. The accusations of objectification fly around. PS: Both husband & wife doing it is completely fine. One is proud. Justified :)"
