Saudi Arabia Experiences Unusually Heavy Snowfall & Blizzard, Authorities Issue Warning
Residents of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia and the adjoining mountainous region, including Jebel Al Lawz, enjoyed the strange onset of winter.
Weather warnings have been issued for several regions across Saudi Arabia as an unusual blizzard and snowstorm hit many parts.
While some were cooped up in their homes for warmth others stepped out to catch a glimpse of the strange fascinating weather. Winter season in Saudi Arabia is called Kashta.
Some even captured camels chilling amid heavy snowfall. The Tabuk region is popular for its snowfall, the granite terrain of the mountain region make it a perfect tourist destination during winter.

According to Khaleej Times, residents and tourists, including some who drove all the way from the UAE, flocked to the mountainous region to enjoy this annual winter phenomenon.

Authorities in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday issued weather warnings for several regions across the Kingdom for this weekend. The advisory noted that thunderstorms, cold showers and brisk winds were expected in the capital Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, the Eastern Province, Qassim, Tabuk, Hail, the Northern Borders Province, Asir, Al Baha, Jazan, Najran and Jawf.

Last month, Saudi Arabia¡¯s Sahara Desert had seen snowfall for the first time in over 50 years.
Snow was spotted across the country, however the largest buildup was across the Aseer region, which is south of Mecca along the coast of the Red Sea.
