'How To Style An Epidemic': Insensitive Influencers Capitalize And Romanticize Coronavirus

Influencers use what's trending to their advantage by inculcating that in their content. What's trending in the entire world at the moment is coronavirus, and the influencers and fashion industry have found ways to capitalize even on this epidemic.

Influencers are sharing pictures with them having donned surgical masks, hashtagging them #coronavirus, and this is nothing but distasteful and insulting to people who are infected by the disease.

YouTuber Logan Paul also posted a picture referring to the deadly virus, which many people pointed out was offensive to the people who are actually suffering from it.

Couple influencers are posting pictures of them kissing through the surgical masks, romanticizing the epidemic.

London fashion magazines are publishing articles like, 'How to style an epidemic'. Are you serious? People are dying and suffering because of coronavirus and they will be concerned about styling themselves amidst this emergency?

Some influencers are using these posts to inform their followers about how to avoid the epidemic and recommending them to wear masks wherever they go. Some believe that people are still uninformed about the scope of the situation and the defense against it and they need to be told and are using captions like, ¡®Prevention is better than cure¡¯.

So sad. #coronavirus ?? There are 81 death so far and it is estimated 100k people are already infected. China has isolated the city with most case identified but number of them are believed to have already left the city with the virus. Spreading awareness in our communities to fight this outbreak is very important. I want to bring this important information to you as we think alot of people are still unaware abt this issue and it's spreading very quickly everywhere around the world. Here are few things that u should do to protect yourself : 1. Wear Mask ( Use the right one ( I use Cambridge Mask N99 pro from UK and KF94 ( made in Korea). 2. Wash your hands often with soap for at least 30s. I bring handwash gel when i go out too. 3. Avoid touching ur mouth, nose and eyes with unwashed hand. 4. Avoid contact with sick people. 5. Against the wildlife animal eating culture. 6. Drink plenty of water ( liquid) and vitamin. To protect other : 1. Stay home while u r sick 2. Avoid close contact with other 3. Cover your mouth n nose with tissue when u cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue away in the trash and wash your hand. 4. Clean and disinfect objects and surface. If the idea behind posting about coronavirus is to educate people, it is good. However, people who are capitalizing on the epidemic should realize how distasteful and insensitive it is.
