Good Samaritan Risks COVID Infection, Travels Two Hours To Donate Blood To Pregnant Woman
The 22-year-old came to help the pregnant woman when her husband was looking for a donor but found it difficult due to COVID fear among people. As soon as the young woman saw the expecting husband's plea on WhatsApp she decided to travel to the hospital to donate blood to the pregnant lady.
If it wasn't for the kindness and goodwill of the people, this country would be in shambles right now. I mean, it already is but the people are trying their best to keep it afloat.
The rising Covid cases in the country along with the collapse of the healthcare system due to the unavailability of adequate resources has led people to go out of their way to help those in need of medicine, oxygen, hospital beds, plasma etc.
While social media is flooded with requests and leads, there are others who are physically putting themselves out there to lend a helping hand.
An example of the same is 22-year-old Ravali Thikka from Hyderabad who travelled for more than two hours to donate blood to a woman who was nine months pregnant.

The woman who needed the blood is identified as G Vajeera. She did not have a covid-related emergency but things became difficult for her when her husband, G Prashant was diagnosed with the coronavirus.
According to The New Indian Express, Prashant said that his wife is not COVID-positive but due to some medical issue, doctors wanted to procure blood for her. He said, ¡°I reached out to blood banks, but they said it was not available. I called others but no one agreed."
He added that while he was on the lookout for a blood donor, his WhatsApp status where he had put up the request received a reply. Ravali saw the request and said that she felt it was her duty to help Prashant's wife.
Her criteria matched with the required blood requisite and she went to Mulugu where Vajeera was admitted.

Ravali revealed that her parents were sceptical about her travelling during a time like this for two long hours. However, she was dedicated to her cause of helping the couple. She said, "I convinced my parents and took a public bus to reach Mulugu."
This was the first time Ravali had donated blood.
Kindness goes a long way.
