Iranian Teen Who Went Missing During Anti-Hijab Protests In Iran Found Brutally Murdered
The 17-year-old is among the numerous people who have died due to the police crackdown on protests organized by women across the Islamic Republic.
A 17-year-old girl who vigorously joined the anti-hijab protests in Iran went mysteriously missing. A week later, her body, with multiple wounds on her face and head, was handed over to her family.
Both Nika Shakarami's nose and her skull were broken.
The 17-year-old is among the numerous people who have died due to the police crackdown on protests organized by women across the Islamic Republic.
Nika Shakarami, 17, was one of the many protesters who took to the streets across Iran to voice their opposition to the murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, who was held by the moral police at the time for allegedly inappropriately donning her hijab. She disappeared as a protest was going on.

Her body was returned a week later with blows to her nose and broken bones in her skull.
Nika Shakarami reportedly told a friend during her last phone call that she was fleeing security forces, according to a report in The Telegraph.

Media sources claim that when the Shakarami family went to identify the body, they were not permitted to see her head.
She had broken her nose. A big thing, presumably a baton, had repeatedly hammered into Nika's skull. Her suspicious wound's cause is now unclear.
