In the video's opening scene, Melek is shown standing on a stage with a microphone and a pair of scissors in each hand.
As the audience applauds her feat, Melek is seen cutting off her hair. The audience cheers, hoots, and whistles as she throws her hair onto the stage. The Turkish singer didn't stop there; she began cutting her hair with scissors.
Social media users praised the singer and labeled her an inspiration as soon as the video went viral. Many online users asserted that this signaled the start of a revolution.
One user commented, "I think the revolution has begun. This will happen all around the world."
Melek has a record of being a strong advocate for women's rights. Melek was removed from the stage in 2020 after criticizing the release of a Turkish police officer who had committed rape.
Amini, a native of the western city of Saqez and a member of the Kurdish ethnic group, was detained on September 13 while on holiday with her family in Tehran.
The morality police in Tehran detained her outside a metro station. They charged her with disobeying the legislation mandating that women cover their arms and legs with loose clothing and hair with a hijab.
Police asserted that Amini allegedly experienced "sudden heart failure" while waiting to be "educated" at the facility with other women.
After three days in a coma, state television declared her dead on Friday.
