Despite scoring 300/300, JEE Main Topper Wants to Retake Exam, Says 'It Is Good Practice'
He claims that turning up for JEE Main session two will improve his time management.
While many of us could be satisfied with 'passing marks', JEE Topper Navya Hisaria refuses to back down despite scoring perfect marks. Although Navya Hisaria scored perfectly in JEE Main session 1, the Rajasthani youngster won't quit taking the exam.
Hisaria, who claimed to have received a score of 300 out of 300 on the exam, plans to take the fairly tough Joint Entrance Examination again just for practice. He claims that turning up for JEE Main session two will improve his time management.
"These JEE Main attempts teach me how to complete the paper within the given timeframe and manage the time well. One can be fully aware of how much preparation they are by attempting the exam. It is like a practice (JEE Advanced)," the topper said, according to News18.
Hisaria has nothing to lose even if he cannot recreate his perfect score on the second attempt because the best of the two scores will be used to determine the final score.
The 17-year-old Rajasthani student dreams of getting accepted into the premier Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay's competitive computer science department.
According to the National Testing Agency, 14 applicants received a flawless score on the engineering entrance exam JEE-Main, which was announced on Monday (NTA).
According to a senior NTA official, the NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks earned.
"NTA scores are normalized scores across multi-session papers based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of the examinees," the official told news agency PTI.
The second session of JEE-Main is scheduled to be held from July 21 to 30.
The ranks of the candidates will be released after both sessions of the JEE (Main)-2022 examination, taking into consideration the best of the two NTA scores following the policy already made.
The dates of the second JEE-Main session are July 21¨C30.
The ranks of the applicants will be announced following the completion of both JEE (Main)-2022 testing sessions, taking into account the best of the two NTA scores per the established policy.
