During Queen Elizabeth's funeral in 2022, Camilla wore the Crown of Queen Elizabeth, which includes the Kohinoor diamond. The Queen Consort will have the crown modified to include diamonds from the late Queen Elizabeth's personal collection, Buckingham Palace has now confirmed.
For the first time since the 18th century, a crown will be used at a coronation rather than being ordered new.
Queen Caroline, the consort of King George II, was the last consort to reuse a crown. Mary of Modena's crown had been on her head.

There will be minor changes and additions to the crown
The Crown Jeweller will handle "minor changes and additions," according to the palace. This is being done to insert jewels that "reflect the consort's individual style" and are "unique to the occasion."
The Cullinan III, IV, and V diamonds will reportedly be used to reset the crown, according to reports. Queen Mary's crown, which the Queen Consort will don at the coronation, was created by the upscale jeweller Garrard's, which has its headquarters in London's Mayfair district. The crown's design, according to a TIME article, was influenced by Queen Alexandra's Crown of 1902. It was last spotted in the open on the Queen Mother's casket in 2002, during her funeral.
Kohinoor diamond remains the most expensive and controversial
With a weight of 105.6 carats, the Kohinoor ranks among the largest cut diamonds in the world. It has been a source of contention between India and the UK for a long time.
Although there are many contradictory legends surrounding the diamond's origin, it is widely accepted that it came from the Golconda mines in central-southern India.
According to Kohinoor experts, it has had many previous owners, including the rulers of the Mughal empire, the Shahs of Iran, the Sikh Maharahas, and the Emirs of Afghanistan. However, it has only been worn by female family members since arriving in the UK.
Now, Indians on Twitter are demanding it back. A user wrote, "The kohinoor diamond was founded in Indian soil. It represents to the British their dark brutal colonial history. Return Kohinoor to India...!!"
