'Corona Drive?' Crowd At Marine Drive In Unlock 1 Is Proof We Are Not Taking COVID-19 Seriously
Click here to look at the picture of crowded marine drive and how it id proof that people are not taking the coronavirus seriously.
Unlock 1 saw the Maharashtra government introduce some relaxations in lockdown measures since May 31. Outdoor activities like cycling, jogging, running have been permitted in this phase and the result? People crowding the marine drive in Mumbai for their ¡®health¡¯.
An image, reportedly first shared by an Instagram user, Niharika Kulkarni on June 6 shows hundreds of people crowding the marine drive, out for physical activity.
This comes from the state of Maharashtra where the total number of COVID-19 cases have crossed the total number reported from the entire country of China.
Every single person in the picture seems to have a mask on, but the physical distance between two people is anything but more than 3-4 feet. The ¡®social distancing¡¯ norms to protect oneself from contracting coronavirus have obviously not been taken into account.
The image caption reads, ¡®Huge crowd at Marine drive in the evening. June 6, 2020. In phase 1 of unlocking, outdoor physical activities have been allowed across the state from June 3 from 5 am to 7 pm¡¯.
The image soon made its way to other social media platforms where people were aghast. This is how some people reacted to it.

Some people have been blaming the government for the failure of lockdown measures in the last few months as coronavirus cases in India are seeing a rise steeper than ever.
However one also needs to question all these people who, with complete disregard of strained medics and overcrowded hospitals, are out of their houses for a ¡®walk¡¯ or a ¡®run¡¯ in the fresh air.
At the end of the day it is also the individual¡¯s responsibility to protect oneself and one¡¯s family from the pandemic and going out for walks and jogs in crowded places is certainly not the way to do that.
