Global fashion influencer and entrepreneur Masoom Minawala, who spoke about turning her passion into a successful business, but she got brutally trolled on social media platforms for ignoring her privileges. Here's what happened.
Influencers have a knack for talking about various subjects, sans the expertise about that particular subject. They also often get trolled for putting out stories that may or may not be real. The same happened with global fashion influencer and entrepreneur Masoom Minawala, who spoke about turning her passion into a successful business, but she got brutally trolled on social media platforms for ignoring her 'privilege'. Here's what happened.
Masoom Minawala trolled for talking about entrepreneurship
In a LinkedIn post, influencer Masoom Minawala posted about turning her passion into a successful business. She shared how she wasn't academically inclined and yet build a successful career for herself explaining exactly how she did all this and what is required to be a successful entrepreneur.
She wrote, "I wasn't academically inclined, I didn't score very well in school or college, I dropped out of a diploma. YET, today, I'm an entrepreneur, leading a team of 15+ and have had the opportunity of turning my passion into my business. Do you know how I did that without academic inclination or achievements? With skill, With determination, With passion and zeal to work."
She also advised, "So let this serve as a reminder that everyone has different learning styles and academic achievements aren't the only dictators of your success in life."
The post got the influencer trolled
The post was originally meant to be motivating, but didn't sit well with many social media users and they were not afraid to speak up about it. The original post by the influencer seems to have been deleted but a screenshot of the post is making the rounds online.
A user shared the screenshot of her post and wrote, "Yes, because your father, the millionaire jeweler and you not paying your interns couldn't be the reason for your thriving business."

Another user pointed out, "Also married to a Gem merchant. People not acknowledging their privilege and giving life lessons to mere mortals is probably the most annoying thing on SM these days. Mostly by influencers."
