About Maa Chandraghanta
We worship Goddess Chandraghanta on the third day of Navratri. According to Hindu mythology, the goddess is the married form of the goddess Parvati. It is believed that the planet Shukra (Venus) is governed by this goddess only.
Maa Chandraghanta's pictorial depiction shows her endowed with ten hands and mounted on a tiger. She carries a trident (Trishul), a mace (gada), a sword (talwar), a pitcher (kamandal) in her left hand and a lotus, a bow, an arrow, and Japa mala in her right. In addition, Maa Chandraghanta has a third eye that opens only during times of war.
