Australia Cancels Novak Djokovic's Visa, The Jokes Follow
When the world No.1 arrived at Melbourne Airport late on Wednesday night to defend his crown in the Australian Open, he was kept overnight under police guard and questioned by border officials.
World's number tennis player Novak Djokovic has been openly vocal about wanting to remain unvaccinated against the novel coronavirus, despite experts advising everyone to get the jab as soon as possible.
So, it is only natural that the people who plan to not get the vaccine will be alienated from activities that involve others.
When the world No.1 arrived at Melbourne Airport late on Wednesday night to defend his crown in the Australian Open, he was kept overnight under police guard and questioned by border officials.
According to a report by AFP, the Serbian professional tennis player landed in Australia after claiming on social media that he has been granted a medical exemption for not getting the vaccine and he could play in the tournament without showing proof of vaccination. However, the report says that this did not sit well with the Australian authorities who denied entry to the athlete and cancelled his visa.
Now, he is the butt of all jokes on the internet after his visa to enter Australia was denied. People are mocking him and his choice to remain unvaccinated in today's time.

Djokovic was moved to a hotel in Carlton in Melbourne's inner-city under police guard on Thursday morning as authorities put in efforts to arrange a deportation flight back to Serbia.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed Djokovic's visa had been cancelled on Thursday morning. 'Mr Djokovic's visa has been cancelled,' Mr Morrison wrote on Twitter. 'Rules are rules, especially when it comes to our borders. No one is above these rules.
'Our strong border policies have been critical to Australia having one of the lowest death rates in the world from Covid, we are continuing to be vigilant.'
