Police Comes To The Rescue Of Mumbai Woman Who Was Thrown Out Of Her Apartment By Landlord
A 35-year-old accountant, Kavita Iyer was kicked out of her rented apartment last month and thanks to the local police, she managed to file a complaint against her landlord.
Kavita Iyer, a 35-year-old accountant, was kicked out of her rented apartment last month, according to a Mid-Day report. Her landlord had said that it was due to her failure to pay her commodities bills that he had thrown her out.

He said, "I bought the flat with the help of a loan. She hadn't paid the electricity bill for two months and four months' rent. That is why I locked her out."
However, after news of the landlord throwing the woman out went public, Manikpur's local police, where the incident occurred, got in touch with Iyer and helped her register a complaint against the landlord, Arjun Kumbhai, as all of her belongings such as her clothes, jewellery, bank cards and identity documents were inside.
Now, Iyer can return to her apartment to gather her belongings.

She said, "After the police called me to the police station, the owner called me and gave me the flat's keys. Since my work has resumed, I have promised to pay the rent for July and August. Many people also helped me financially."
Her being kicked out by Kumbhai had led her to live on the streets due to no financial stability. Iyer is a resident of Gokul Aangan society in Vasai West in Mumbai and she works for a private organisation.
Iyer added, "I will vacate the flat on August 16 and pay one month's rent. The remaining amount will be adjusted with the Rs 35,000 deposit."
